My holidays are quickly approaching, the countdown is on! Trip is planned, more or less, car rental is reserved, now it's just a matter of waiting for the day to get here. It's funny how the work weeks can seem so long when you're close to a holiday....
On a side note the Russel Peters show was awesome! He is even funnier in person. It was a sold out show (his second show in Calgary) which suprised me a little. If you ever get a chance to go see him it's definately worth it, assuming you like laughing....a lot.

Gaming News...
Some news on the gaming front....
ARMA II demo has been released today, check this link for some mirrors. Personally though if you have Steam installed you'll find the download probably is much quicker through that. ARMA II should be a great game, most likely full of bugs as the first one was but the developers are quite dedicated to supporting it so they will get ironed out. The sheer scope of the game is enough to get me past the awkward start. If you prefer a little (read: a LOT) of realism in your shooters than this is one you'll want to check out.
VE3D has some good trailers posted today. One is a peek at the multiplayer modes in the upcoming Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. I have to admit it looks like it could be a lot of fun. They also have posted an excellent video preview of God of War III, like that game isn't going to be amazing. Kratos now boasts 20,000 polygons, which according to the developer wouldn't even fit on the PS2's memory.
It also seems as though we'll be seeing another Hitman movie, which to me is a good thing. I enjoyed the first movie and I've always been a fan of the games. Blood Money is one of the more memorable games I've played.

Twentieth Century Fox has "Hitman 2" in its crosshairs. Studio has hired screenwriter Kyle Ward to write a script for the movie that catches title character, Agent 47, at a low point. He must build himself back up psychologically and physically to reclaim his mantle as the world's most feared assassin. The film will contain story elements from "Hitman 5," the upcoming Eidos vidgame that will be released in late 2010. Adrian Askarieh is producing with Chuck Gordon, with Daniel Alter executive producer. Ward got the job after scripting "Kane and Lynch," the Lionsgate drama that has Bruce Willis attached to star and Simon Crane to direct. That picture, also produced by Askarieh and Alter, is expected to begin production by year's end. Ward also scripted Universal's "Fiasco Heights," which has Michael Bay attached to produce. The original "Hitman" starred Timothy Olyphant and grossed $100 million on a $30 million budget.
Glad to hear there is another Hitman game coming too! Kayne and Lynch movie? Bruce Willis? I guess it can't be as terrible as the game.....right?

Assassin's Creed
Playing through Assassin's Creed again. Great game and I thought it would be fun to get reaquainted with it since we'll be seeing AC2 this November. I forgot how beautiful the game is visually, even with all the new games out it still stands out as one of the best looking games to date.
Change of heart for Valve?
Saw an interesting post on ve3d.com today about Left 4 Dead 2 on the PS3.
Yesterday Joystiq noted that Valve's "Left 4 Dead 2", supposedly exclusive to the PC and X360, had been listed on the official EA site for the PS3. So began some speculation. Today 1UP has updated the story, noting that the official EA site has now removed the PS3 listing. Honest mistake? Perhaps not since the site listed the PS3 version of Left 4 Dead 2 in two places, and also showed a game box for a PS3 version.
Honest mistake? Perhaps, I'd love to see it on the PS3, but not if it turns out to be a crappy port like the Orange Box was, not to mention a port Valve refuses to support with updates.
